ENTRISME | COMMUNAUTÉ DE L'INSTANT_
"Il y a quelque chose d’un code privé, un insigne d’identité parmi les petites cliques urbaines"
Susan Sontag, Notes on "Camp", 1964.

FEDOR PAVLOV-ANDREEVICH | A PORTRAIT WITH THE ARTIST AND CHILD_
Following Hunger Meditation in 2008, Galerie Stanislas Bourgain presents a new performance by the Russian artist Fedor Pavlov-Andreevich: A portrait with the artist and child. By rethinking the representation of the relationships between men and women, the artist, holding a child in his arms, invites the visitor to have a portrait with himself and a child and to go home with the photograph as a memento. Recalling the 1975 Role Exchange performance by Marina Abramovic, where she took the role of a prostitute in Amsterdam whereas this latter was in the role of the artist at the opening, A portrait with the artist and child deals with themes of sexual identities, gender and role exchange.
Born in 1978, Fedor Pavlov Andreevich is graduated from the Journalism Department of Moscow University. He is known in Russia as an artist and a producer of theater and cultural events. He now mainly concentrates on performance work that he has shown in prestigious exhibitions such as Marina Abramovic Presents (Manchester, 2009), Deitch Projects (New-York, 2009), Royal Academy of Arts (London), Paradise Row Gallery (London). In the gallery in 2008, Fedor Pavlov-Andreevich has presented Hunger Meditation, an exhibiton composed of videos, an installation, metal prints and a performance.

QUINQUIS DELS 80 | CINEMA, PREMSA I CARRER_
GANGS OF THE 80s | CINEMA, PRESS AND THE STREET_
This exhibition, organized by Amanda Cuesta and Mery Cuesta, offers a view of juvenile delinquency cinema, which peaked between 1978 and 1985, focusing on its relationship of retro-feeding with the press of the time. The exhibition also acts as a faithful reflection of the urban, social, political and economic transformations that were sweeping through the country at that time. Cinema quinqui involved a particular, involved and mutually feeding relation with the sensationalist press of the time, but it was also a faithful reflection of the urban planning, social, political and economic changes scourging the country during this period. The codes of representation of juvenile delinquency in cinema quinqui have survived until the present day, when the stereotype of the quinqui, having undergone an aesthetic makeover, is still a source of unconcealed fascination.

TONY REGAZZONI | LAST NIGHT IN SODOM_
(Damien Delille)

JAMES J. WILLIAMS III | I LOVE EVERYTHING_
Come celebrate James J. Williams III first New York show since 2006 in all its gaudiness, faux-oppulence and round the clock touching. Afterparty downstairs at Home Sweet Home to follow. Special Victims Unit is rumoured to be playing. The beginning of James J. Williams III's exhibition - I Love Everything - is also the chronological end of the show. It consists of the project’s skeleton to which every day a few more pieces are added until the body of the show ends with an opening of its closing. In addition artists, musicians, writers and performers are invited to utilize the east gallery as a salon and performance space to feed the growth of the exhibition in the west gallery, which serves a ‘second home’ where kindred spirits can relax, mix with their friends, enjoy the art on the walls and enjoy poetry, music, film and dance.

OLIVER ROHE | UN PEUPLE EN PETIT_
Editions Gallimard. Collection Blanche. 210 pages.

Each KAISERIN issue centers around one specific theme or title. Hors Les Murs (H.L.M.) celebrates the launch of the fifth issue of KAISERIN, L’Outside. The magazine and the exhibition complement one another with the aim of replacing the walls of a space with the pages of a magazine and vice versa. Fourtané and Fitan bring together a wide selection of artistic practices that set architectural environments and individual identities in direct contrast. The idea of being outside of your comfort zone, outside of your defined space forms the conceptual basis for their project. The exhibition Hors Les Murs (H.L.M.) and the magazine L’Outside venture into all walks of creative life without limitation and boundaries. With a special feature L’Outside will pay homage to the work of Al Baltrop and, for the very first time, include two color photographs taken on the Piers.
A performance by Santiago Reyes will be a special part of the opening. A limited edition by graphic designer Aleksandar Todorovic is available during the exhibition.
PARTICIPATING ARTISTS IN MAGAZINE AND EXHIBITION ARE: Aleksandar Todorovic, Al Baltrop, Ariel Kenig, Arnaud-Pierre Fourtané, Bertrand Le Pluard, Brandon Herman, Cyril Sancereau, Didier Fitan, Eric Stephany, Gio Black Peter, Grant Willing, Guillaume Greff, James J. Williams III, Jared Buckhiester, Joseph Earlwyn Covington, Liesbeth de Fossé, Nicklas Hultman, Oliver Laric, Santiago Reyes, Slava Mogutin, Vier5.

I LOVE TOURISM SHOP | 4WINDOWS - II° EDIZIONE_
A project by I Love Tourism, the Bevilacqua La Masa Book Shop. Each of the 4 shop windows is allocated to one designer or studio, invited to use the space as they wish for the purpose of self promotion. Instead of usual shop windows, ILT has small galleries of design. With this project the shop underlines its concept and purpose: to promote young designers and show that Venice is still capable of recognizing and celebrating innovations as well as actively contributing to the discourse of contemporary design. 4WINDOWS is an open dialogue on aesthetics between designer and passer-by, a changeable installation where the object is not only a product but an idea... (4WINDOWS - SECOND EDITION: LO-FI-ME - K-BOARDS - PU-PAZZI - KAISERIN MAGAZINE)

AD MEMORIAM | AN EXHIBITION ORGANIZED BY JOEL GIBB_
Exile presents its second residency project by composer, singer and artist Joel Gibb. Specifically timed for the month preoccupied with the birth of Christ, Ad memoriam looks ahead and acknowledge our inevitable death and decay. The project brings together the works of the Canadian artists Joel Gibb and GB Jones, as well as the French-born artists and Berlin residents Christophe Chemin and Gwenael Rattke. All of their works, some of them made specifically for this project, reference what is likely our greatest obsession and fear: the passage from living individual to decaying corpse.
From the ancient past to our strange contemporary world of serial killers and fanaticism, mankind has created altars and monuments, performed rites and rituals surrounding death. Working in distinctly different media, ranging from Jones’s lush graphite pencil drawings and Rattke’s magazine collages to Chemin’s bubble-gum crucifixion scenes and Gibb’s black felt wall tableaus, the artists dissect and contribute to this cult of death.
Ad memoriam transform Exile’s project space into a pop-depressive chapel devoted to the rituals, processions and glorifications of all of our inevitable departures.

OLIVER LARIC | 50 50 2008 - UP DOWN - TOUCH MY BODY (GREEN SCREEN VERSION)_
Berlin based artist Oliver Laric is adept at the subtle restructuring of existing popular media. With gentle emphasis he diverts images, turning them in on themselves to such a degree that they come to self-reflexively represent their own critique. For this exhibition he presents three new video works.
